Peer Reviewer Information

New Sociology: Journal of Critical Praxis is currently looking for new peer reviewers! If you are interested in becoming a peer reviewer with the journal, please complete our online Peer Reviewer Application Form and upload your printed, signed, and scanned copy of the Confidentiality Agreement for New Sociology Peer Reviewers (see below).

Academic Articles

New Sociology welcomes all manuscripts that fit its mandate. Work will be reviewed under a double blind peer review process. Manuscripts will be reviewed by both members of the editorial board and volunteer reviewers across York University. Volunteer reviewers include recent or current graduate students, post-doctoral students, and university professors.

All submissions received are first reviewed by the senior editorial board. Only those manuscripts which meet the criteria, mandate, and scope of the journal will be sent forth for formal peer review. Papers deemed to insufficiently meet these standards will be declined without additional review. All final decisions regarding revisions and acceptance are approved by the editorial board, upon recommendation of assigned reviewers.

Liminal Grounds Section

For our Liminal Grounds section, we use a roundtable editorial review process wherein a subcommittee comprised of select editorial board members review all submissions and then make editorial decisions together at a board meeting. For information on which members constitute the subcommittee, please refer here.

For more information on how the peer reviewing process works, please email the senior editorial board at newsoc@yorku.ca.
